SECA-Society of Extra Curricular Activities-JASHAN 2K17

JASHAN 2K17 is one of the biggest event organized by SECA in our college. It includes number of cultural activities like collage making, rangoli, poster making, face painting, best out of waste, mime, shake the beat etc.
IStudents of Architecture department participated in almost all the events and stood third in overall departmental trophy under the guidance of Ar. Aakriti Ahuja Manchanda (SECA member) & headship of Er. Bohar Singh.



Expert Lecture by Ar. Jit Kumar Gupta.

School of Architecture had organized an expert lecture by renowned Architect Jit Kumar Gupta on 23.09.16 on topic "How to design Green Buildings" which is the utmost need of today's era.
This expert lecture was organised by Ar. Aakriti Ahuja Manchanda (Asstt Prof, SOA). On this occassion other faculty members were also present along with the  students of School of Architecture and Civil engg. SBSSTC Fzr.


Digital India

School Of Architecture went for the seminar on digital India, many events were organized. This was held in Giani Zail Singh College , Bhathinda.
Our students participated in quiz competition , logo making competition.


ZONE 1 - ZONAL COUNCIL MEET

Zonal Council Meet of Zone-1 for the 60th Year of NASA India which is hosted by IET Bhaddal (Z119) on 14-16th April' 2017 was a great success. DEBANSHU PAYRA (Unit Secretary) of 2nd year & LOVEPREET SINGH(Unit Designee) of 2nd year attended that meeting.The meeting was open to Unit Secretaries, Unit Designees and ExUnit Secretaries of registered colleges as well as representatives of New Colleges.
In the meet they had interactive sessions and had actively participated in it. The meeting helped the new General Council members to have an in-depth analysis about the methodology and plans of NASA India.

ZONE NASA CONVENTION , 2016- ZONE-1

Hon'ble Chairman BOG, Sh Akhil Malhotra , Our Campus Director Dr. T.S. Sidhu, Ms Parampreet Kaur(Principal S.O.A), Ar. Esha Sharma(Asst.Prof./NASA Incharge) facilitating team of 10 students of B.Arch. of SBS Campus who had participated in ZONAL NASA CONVENTION 2016 held at Manav Rachna International University, Faridabad ,congratulate to all B.Arch. students.

It was a 4 day event from 2nd – 5th November 2016 at Manav Rachna International University,Faridabad. The group was lead by Debansu Payra(USEC) coordinated by Lovepreet Singh(UD). The students had participated in all the events like formal events, informal events, workshops and side events .Another great success for School of Architecture SBSSTC standing as a visitor college we still have attended events like brick jalli, best out of waste, re-turn, participating in RUBENS TROPHY, bamboo workshop, tattoo art ,etc. There were many prominent architects , artists, celebrities like Indeep Bakshi was part of this convention. There were a total of 60 colleges with more than 2000 students participated from North Zone only.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

  1. As being a new college RUBENS TROPHY (annual college work) was appreciated by other colleges as well.
  2. Our college USEC was facilitated in the ceremony twice, once for the USEC batch and next for the USEC memento as being an USEC in NASA India and worked under it.
  3. We have also attended Wazid Kahan (world famous artist) workshop and interacted with him. A person of interest who is well known in all over the world for his works in the field of arts.
  4. Our students participated in workshops like RE-TURN, Best Out of Waste, Product designing which would help them to work beyond their horizon and to uplift their vision and thinking.
  5. Attended lectures like G-Sen trophy, bamboo and urban farming, Fenesta etc.
  6. The students were a part of a world record creation which was set during the ZONASA convention -2016 which was world largest foot print painting .

7TH ANNUAL NATIONAL CONFERENCE GRIHA SUMMIT 2016

The GRIHA Summit 2016 (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat) was a landmark event that involved hundreds of community members. This was a four-day event that took place between 16th and 20th February (Tuesday - Saturday) 2016 at India Habitat Centre (IHC), New Delhi. In which students Debanshu Payra, Sharandeep S. Sandhu, Vikrant of School Of Architecture, SBSSTC took part.

The 4-day GRIHA Summit served as a platform for knowledge sharing among different domains of the green building industry. It facilitated multi- stakeholder partnerships and networking among governments, academia, civil society organizations, and professionals from different disciplines such as architecture, engineering, and construction management.

The conference theme was 'Cities of the Future' and the sessions were designed around enhanced efficiency of built environment both at the city and building level. In addition to the plenary session in which several eminent speakers were invited to address the audience, key sessions around feasibility of smart cities in the Indian context, architectural design and technology for efficient buildings and hands on activity workshops for students and media were also conducted during the GRIHA Summit 2016.

Featuring eminent speakers, unmatched networking opportunities, exhibition of green building products (on 18th-19th February), GRIHA workshops (for about 40 professionals from 16th- 17th February and for students on 17th February, i.e. GRIHA Trophy at NASA), and tour of green buildings (on 20th February), the GRIHA Summit offered a platform for hundreds to meet and renew their commitment to the green movement.

It proved out to be a valuable opportunity for leaders across the nation and around the world to discuss about how our cities manage vital issues ranging from climate change to income equality. This was truly a 'must-attend' event for working professionals ranging from chief strategic officers to architects who are engaged in vital urban issues.

WHAT GRIHA DO?

GRIHA Council, is mandated to promote development of buildings and habitats in India through GRIHA. GRIHA Council an independent platform for the interaction on scientific and administrative issues related to sustainable habitats in the Indian subcontinent. It was founded by TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute, New Delhi) with support from MNRE (Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India) along with a handful of experts in the sustainability of built environment from across the country.

ARCHOTSAV 2015

It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that our 16 students of B.ARCH.1Sem. 1Yrs. with two Faculty members Ar. Esha sharma and Ar. Kanika Gupta had participated and WON in ARCHOTSAV 2015 a National level Techno Cultural Architectural Convention, themed celebrating architecture from 31oct- 1nov.2015 at Sunder Deep Group of institute ,Ghaziabad. ARCHOTSAV had taken an initiative facilitating an impressive exchange of innovative ideas that promised to contribute positively to the development of society on the whole.There were more than 113 college from all over India and more than 3000 plus students who had participated in ARCHOTSAV 2015.There were experts from various industries and renowned personalities from the academia and Bollywood to help students to gain new perspective.There was abounding number of lectures and workshops on varied topics which was an enriching experience for the students to explore new horizons.Students got to interact with renowned Architects and Some Eminent Speaker of India like Ar.Krishna Rao Jaisim,Bangalore (NDTV life time achievement awarder) etc.

ACHIEVEMENTS

1. Won 2nd position in India Haat ( Indian folk dance).
2. Among 113 colleges only 21 colleges Ambassador were felicitated at award ceremony and our college was one of them- (Ambassador-Debanshu Pyra).
3. Our annual college work and model making was appreciated by every one.
4.Students attended all the 26 lectures delivered by renowned Architects and Eminent Speaker of India.


NASA INDIA

“The National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA India) is one of the largest Architectural Student Organizations in the world with student participants from more than two hundred colleges all over the India and countries around the world. The main objective of NASA India is to create a platform for architecture students to learn and interact, engage them directly and indirectly through both online and offline platforms. NASA India conducts events, conventions, seminars, workshops, design competitions & trophies and many other activities.
At NASA India we believe that Architects can come together, learn and create a huge positive impact on the world, and we strive for the same through our activities. Millions of students have gone through the NASA India experience in its rich history since the year when it was founded in 1953. Today NASA India continues not just providing learning and experience to students from India and across the world, but also creating a connection and voice for the architecture student community.” The colleges should satisfy the criteria of being active part of the association for over 2 years or having attended 2 Annual and Zonal NASA Conventions consecutively.
The member colleges of NASA INDIA are classified into Six Zones on the basis of the geographical location and the Examination schedules of the colleges across the country. School of Architecture, SBSSTC, falls under Zone -1.

ZONE 1 - ZONAL COUNCIL MEET

School of Architecture, SBBSTC, Debanshu Pyra (Unit Secretary) & Lovepreet Singh (Unit Designee) of ZONE 1 had attended NASA INDIA , Zonal Council Meet – 2016 hosted by Shree Bankey Bihari Institute of Architecture, Meerut from 8th April 2016 to 9th April 2016.
We are proud to Report that Zone -1, Zonal Council Meet was a huge success! Over 105 attendees from 35 colleges were present in the meeting.
